Schramberg
Stadtmuseum
The city museum is located in a neo-classic castle of mid 19th century.
The exhibition of castles, stoneware, straw braiding and particularly
clocks with the development historiy of Schramberg is divided
into four different departments. Next to the typical Black Forest
clocks, the industrially manufactured time measuring devices are
of main emphasis. A true highlight is of course the 4 m in height
measuring Artur-Junghans art clock of the year 1900.

ErfinderZeiten: Auto- und Uhrenmuseum
(DeSign of Times: Car, Clock and Watch Museum)
"UhrZeiten" (Time for clocks): You will experience a
unique time travel through the history of the clock in the Black
Forest. Pioneering spirit, inventions and industrialization
accompany you on this way. In historical shop windows the
triumphal progress of the clock can be seen. The radical change
from mechanical clocks to quartz clocks is reflected in the time
measurement by Junghans for the Olympics of 1972. The strive for
precision pinnacles in the development of the radio controlled
clock.
"MobileZeiten" (Time for car): More than 200 vehicles
from the collection of Martin Sauter show the beginning of
mechanization in Germany and answer the question of how life went
on after Second Wald War. You will see the first, partly home-made
automobiles and exotic two-wheelers. Further you will see engines
which use wood for fuel because gasoline was too expensive. You
will also see vehicles for war affected persons. Small cars
followed the two-wheelers. Then-popular brands such as
Messerschmitt and Lloyd are on display - witnesses to a generation
full of energy and pioneering spirit. And finally the economic
miracle started and Germany went mobile.
